Immune / Autoimmune Training Open for Enrollment
We’ve launched a new Teachable Training module detailing our Immune / Autoimmune panel. Intended for providers and partners that would like to gain a deeper understanding; the course includes one complimentary test kit to try on themselves or a patient for personalized learning.
For a limited time (until 3/3) enroll in the Immune / Autoimmune Course for more than 20% off!
Dr. Kendal Stewart Workshop
February 25th is right around the corner, and the Clinical Case Studies Workshop with Dr. Kendal Stewart has very limited seats available and is filling up fast! The early registration promo code expiration has been extended but only for a limited time for early registrants. Use code “GENE22” at checkout.
Why is it relevant?
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, it is an important time to discuss genetic and environmental factors related to inflammation. Indulging in high levels of added sugar and refined carbohydrates has been linked to elevated inflammation, insulin resistance and weight gain (Source). Malfunctions in the immune system can lead to chronic inflammation, allergic reactions and immune aggressive diseases. GX Sciences strives to educate our practitioners about genetic and environmental factors that could explain symptoms associated with inflammation.
Why is it important?
Chronic inflammation has been recognized as the most significant cause of death, with more than 50% of all death being attributable to inflammation-related diseases (Source). Additionally, lifestyle choices and environmental exposures can create further vulnerability to underlying inflammatory and/or auto-immune conditions. Our
comprehensive genetic panel, Auto-Immune | Inflammatory, acts to identify underlying causes of conditions such as allergies, auto-immune diseases, asthma, chronic infections, eczema/psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic dry eyes, fatigue, immune weakness and chronic pain. This genetic test includes specific gene variants (SNPs) that play a significant role in our ability to resolve immune based issues. Genetic findings and interpretations through the GX Sciences supplementation algorithm can help determine:
- Neurotransmitter Deficiency Predispositions
- Cellular Inflammation Potential (abnormal cellular responses to immune signals)
- Autophagy Consideration (how well the cells cleanse)
- Inflammation Stimulators from The Environment
- Glutathione Production & Efficacy
- The Body’s Ability to Detox
- Why Certain Foods Should Be Avoided for Certain Individuals
Which Genes are Included?
The Inflammatory | Auto-Immune Panel aims to highlight important “on” and “off” switches of the immune system. “On” switches indicate how aggressive the immune system is at turning on inflammation. These genes include interleukins (IL genes), CD14, C3, STAT4 and TNF. Conversely, “off” switches indicate how adequate the immune system is at turning itself off. These genes include SOCS-1, CTLA4, TRAF1 and DRD2. SNPs found in these genes have been associated with excessive inflammation, chronic infections, aggressive allergic reactivity and inflammatory disorders (ex. Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s and Graves’ disease).
