Dr. Kendal Stewart serves as a Medical Director specializing in Nutrigenomics for GX Sciences, in addition to being the Medical Director and Chief Science Officer for Neurobiologix and Dr. Neurobiologix. He’s a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and he founded and serves as Chairman for the Neurosensory Centers of America. Dr. Stewart graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Biology with Honors as well as a minor in Chemistry. He graduated with a Medical Doctorate from the University of Texas Medical School, where he also received a Distinguished Student of Clinical Medicine Award for the class of 1988. He served as a biomedical research assistant under Takahashi Yamora, PhD, in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at MD Anderson Cancer Institute. There, he researched biochemical analysis of surface protein markers in colorectal cancers. Dr. Stewart completed his residency at University of Texas Houston Affiliated Hospitals and MD Anderson Cancer Institute. During his residency, he received multiple awards, including the Outstanding Clinical Resident Teaching Award in 1993 and the Outstanding Resident Research Award & Scholarship from the Texas Medical Association/Texas Association of Otolaryngology in 1992. He was explicitly selected for a highly sought-after Fellowship in Otology and Neurotology – Skull Base Surgery at Baylor University Center in Dallas. During this time, he also served as a Clinical Adjunctive Professor. Dr. Kendal Stewart is a Board-Certified Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery specialist and has sub-specialty training in Otology and Neurotology – Skull Base Surgery. He served as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio’s Department of Otolaryngology from 1994 to 1996. He’s been tapped to speak at national conferences over 40 times as a result of his expertise. Additionally, Dr. Stewart has volunteered his time for numerous academic pursuits, including assisting in designing Masters and Doctorate candidate projects for the University of Texas Department of Kinesiology, Psychology, and Speech and Language Development, as well as assembling a patient database for these efforts. He has also participated in two doctoral candidate review boards at the University of Texas. As a leading expert in Neuro-sensory Disorders, Methylation, and Genetic Polymorphisms, Dr. Stewart has encouraged all practitioners to learn the biochemical pathways necessary to objectively verify their patients’ nutritional needs. But, with contemporary advances to genetic testing and nutrigenomic testing in particular, the efficacy and necessity of supplemental nutrition has been scientifically corroborated and validated. With the experience of treating thousands of patients and reading thousands of genetic reports, Dr. Stewart surmised that nutritional supplementation ought to be carefully constructed for each individual. This belief provided the seed for the idea of Neurobiologix. Dr. Kendal Stewart, together with investors, formed Neurobiologix, Inc. to provide the highest quality supplementation available while cutting costs for the consumer. By combining the specific supplements that belong together biochemically, Neurobiologix is able to restrict most people’s supplementation to just a few unique, exclusive formulations. Further, Dr. Stewart has said: “When genetics came around in late 2013 and early 2014, we saw a major transition. The machines we used to have to use for genetic interpretation were large, cumbersome and expensive. But then the machines shrank significantly. With this major change we can now look at an individual and address any issues, and hopefully avoid major medical issues that you would have had to typically deal with retroactively. Today, using a cheek swab, we are able to use genetics to look at what nutritional elements may be weak and at a person’s mitochondria and battery of cells. We’re able to proactively overcome a lot of those weaknesses, and maintain health in a whole, better way. We can customize and tailor specific needs based on you alone rather than on say, a group of patients that have this medical condition. Now we can actually strengthen the immune system, and see who’s at risk and work to keep them from getting the disease in the first place. It’s completely transitioned the way we practice medicine. So instead of cutting people open, we’re better at reviewing genetics and much more successful at providing them a quality life. With GX Sciences (formerly Genomix nutrition), which we founded in April of 2016, we are actually able to address upfront a major weakness your body has, and overcome it. We call it precision medicine.”

Priscila Arbex is the Director of Clinical Affairs currently working for GX Sciences, managing the company’s business growth strategy, evaluating new commercial opportunities, and managing clinical affairs.

Dr. Arbex acquired her degree in Nutrition at President Antônio Carlos University (2004-2008), where she developed technical and clinical practice skills in collaboration with hospitals and private clinics.

She developed her Master in Nutrition Science from the Federal University of Viçosa (2013-2015), with the title: the potential of extruded sorghum flour (Sorghum Bicolor L.) to modulate adiposity, oxidative stress and inflammation in obese rats fed a high-fat diet. She has a Specialization in Sports Training Science from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2010-2012).

In 2018 and 2021, she acquired two specializations in the Modulation of Intestinal Microbiome from the Murilo Pereira Institute, focused on conditions related to the immune system and metabolic pathways from the intestinal environment and epigenetics.

Dr. Arbex acquired her Ph.D. (2017- 2020) as a researcher in the Department of Health Sciences and Technology in the Nutrition, Metabolism, and Epigenetics laboratory at the Zurich Federal Institute of Technology, Switzerland / ETHz (ETH Zurich) in the area of the ketogenic diet adipocytes and e, epigenetics. In her doctoral thesis, she worked with high fat-fructose diets, microbiome, energy metabolism, and epigenetics using biomolecular research methods.

She believes that her academic career is part of her journey to improve her clinical practice. In this sense, she has worked as a clinical nutritionist focused on nutrigenomics and as a professor for various organizations for 10+ years. In 2018 & 2019, as a professor, she taught Dietotherapy in Obesity and Plurimetabolic Syndrome, Biochemistry of Nutrition, Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Etiopathogenesis in liver diseases and Intestine.

As a clinical nutritionist, over the past 12 years, she treated and followed up with patients with conditions such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, mood disorders, and severe diseases related to the gastrointestinal tract, mainly associated with the microbiome. Her experience has shown that each individual is unique, and personalized diet and supplementation are crucial to success.

Gustavo Torres is the Project Manager currently working at Fagron Genomics, specializing in molecular and human genetics, thus, involved in developing genetic tests and technical support. Dr. Torres acquired his pharmacy degree at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2010-2016), where, in collaboration with USP and Butantan Institute, he developed research on human adult stem cells. He participated in the foundation of the first two institutional stem cell biorepositories. He produced several publications describing adult stem cells as study models for genetic diseases, most importantly, neurofibromatosis type I. Also, during his pharmacy formation, he was awarded an international research grant by the American Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) to study and research at Colorado College, where he developed research on computational quantum chemistry. During graduate school, in the program of Genetics and Biotechnology, he worked in the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation in collaboration with several private international entities. He researched mechanisms involved in using lentivirus and CRISPR-Cas9 as systems to produce genetically modified animals for several purposes, including producing human recombinant proteins for medical purposes and improving the understanding of phenotype-genotype relationships. He also served as Assistant Professor at Paulista University, where he was responsible for teaching Human Genetics and Clinical Biochemistry.
